Facial recognition

Enjoy exclusive access and board faster.

Aena and Air Europa launch the first pilot facial recognition project at Minorca airport. This new service enables passengers who have signed up in advance to pass through the security checkpoints and board faster.

What do I need to do to participate in this pilot project?

  • Fly from Minorca with Air Europa and board through gate 2.
  • Have an electronic ID card or passport and boarding card. If you do not have an electronic ID ("DNI 3.0" for Spain) or electronic passport, you can go to the Air Europa check-in desks, where you will be registered to use this system.

How do I use the facial recognition service?

  1. Register at the biometric kiosk or directly at the check-in desk to validate your documentation. Once registered, you will no longer have to show your documentation at the subsequent stages (although you will have to have it on you).
  2. Go to the security checkpoints and look for the exclusive access point with this icon. The camera will verify your identity and you will be able to access directly.
  3. Boarding gate 2 is offering a new access system that verifies your identity and enables you to board planes directly without showing any documentation.
